Craniofacial Acceptance Month (CAM)
2024 marks the 20th year Children’s Craniofacial Association will observe September as Craniofacial Acceptance Month across the nation. Each year CCA families, friends, volunteers and related support groups band together to widen the circle of acceptance for individuals with facial differences. We are proud to keep this tradition alive! View our anticipated schedule for 2024 below.
As we commemorate 35 years of service, we chose the theme โStronger Together,โ because our work is done with our community as the leaders of the facial difference acceptance movement.
The landscape of Craniofacial advocates and activists has exponentially grown and they mostly
represent the teen and young adult populations. From advocating for needed legal protections, like
ELSA (Ensuring Lasting Smiles Act), to hosting podcasts interviewing people from all walks of life,
to insisting medical professionals with facial differences be respected for their lived experience: we
realize that together, we create impact.
Collectively, our voices demand attention. Together, we can make change and lift more diverse voices in our community. Together, we show representation to the younger generation on what life can be when we share ideas, resources, and truth among ourselves. Together, we project acceptance to the public at large.
We believe having a community who shares your unique journey of living with a facial difference, makes life easier and more enjoyable. Thus, we have a focus on family networking to accommodate a community by hosting picnics across the nation, ongoing virtual support group sessions, engaging panels, virtual hangouts, and so much more!

During September we encourage families to contact their local media and state offices to recognize the amazing strength and resilience of our kids and to proclaim September as Craniofacial Acceptance Month.
