My blessings life

Hi name is Linda Flores Alcantara I’m 32 years old. I am the youngest of two siblings. I have an older brother and an older sister.  I was born July 19 1991 in the beautiful city called San Francisco California ... I was born with Apert syndrome. I have over 20 plus surgeries from head to toes.  When I was born the doctors told my mom that I wasn’t going to be able to talk or walk. BUT thankfully to my mom she made me walk with the help of an aunt that lived in Mexico. My aunt gave her the idea of cutting thin blankets round my hips. My mom and my older sis would take wrap sheets of thin blankets around my waist to help me walk. The social worker told my mom and sister that they should ask for a where we could get a speech therapy for me to talk. With my growing I learn that I shouldn’t give up that word doesn’t exist in my head. Thank to my mom n sister with the help of the therapist they should my how to talk.

I would point to the object and they would say oh do you want juice can you say juice n I would repeat it. I had my first surgery about few days after I was born. I have about 22 surgeries counting.  From preschool to high I was in special day classes. At the age 20 my mom suggested that I should go to college to get some early childhood education. at the age 27 I graduated with associate degree in early childhood education. I learn to take the bus to school.  I got my first job in the same district where I did my hours for college.

A year later A principal from the same school Asked me if I would be interested in working as a teacher assistant for special days’ classes. until now I’m still working with them. Some students get attached to me because I have the love and patience for them. One of the parents saw that I had so much care for her son that she asks if I could take care of him when she needed me. Besides going to work I love going dancing with my friends. I love going shopping.  The states I have known would be Minnesota that’s where my cousins live. I move to Tennessee two times. And I travel to Arkansas where my sister lives.
